Add to soups, stocks, stews, marinades, and homemade spice rubs or mix into homemade focaccia, naan, pizza and breads.
Onion Batter - Combine 3/4 cup plain flour, 1/2 cup potato or rice flour, 2 tbsp onion powder, 1 tspn black pepper, 1 tspn smoked paprika, and 1 tspn salt. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and coat onion rings, squid rings, or fish bites. Shake off excess flour mixture into the bowl and then add to flour mix, 1 beaten egg and 1 ½ cups buttermilk. Now dip the items in the batter and deep fry in vegetable oil until crispy and golden.
French Onion Dip – combine 1 cup sour cream, 1 tbsn onion powder, 1 tbsp chopped chives, salt, and pepper to taste. Serve with potato crisps, crackers, crudité or spoon into split baked potatoes (Optional, sauté 1 medium onion (finely chopped), 1 clove garlic (crushed) in 2 tbsp olive oil until caramelised. Cool and mix into the sour cream dip.)
